Wheeled wood grabber as an important equipment for forestry mechanization, plays an irreplaceable role in modern timber harvesting, as a set of wood grabbing, handling, stacking functions ， in one of the multifunctional forestry machinery, since its introduction in the 1960s, has experienced from simple machinery to a highly intelligent development process. 

Compared with crawler wood grabber, wheeled model has the significant advantages of flexible movement, convenient transfer, strong road adaptability, etc., and has become the mainstream equipment for forestry operation in developed countries in Europe and America. 

 Wheeled wood grabber drives the working device through the hydraulic system to complete the wood grabbing, lifting, rotating and placing and other actions. The operator controls  the opening and closing of the gripper and the movement of the lifting arm through the joystick, and the engine power is transferred to the drive axle through the gearbox to realize the movement of the whole machine.

 The modern model mostly adopts pilot hydraulic control or electro-hydraulic proportional control, which makes the operation more precise and labor-saving.
